Cultivation (terrarium parameters) Light: This moss grows well in bright, indirect light from LED or fluorescent fixtures. Try to prevent direct sunlight. Humidity: Prefers 60–90% humidity.  I can handle short dips as long as the base stays moist. Temperature: It prefers normal indoor room temperatures, about 60–77 °F (15–25 °C). Substrate: Tree moss grows in moisture-retentive but well-aerated humus-rich soil. You can also use a fine peat moss blend over a drainage layer. Watering: Mist it daily with clean, dechlorinated, or distilled water for the first few weeks. After establishment, no to little misting is required if the humidity levels are high enough. Airflow: To prevent mold, good airflow is recommended. Growth Rate / Height: The “trees” grow up to about 1–3 inches tall in terrariums. Planting and Handling After you receive the moss, open the package and take the miniature trees out. Keep it out of direct sunlight and moist before planting it. To plant, position each moss tree so its creeping base touches damp substrate and press gently so it can stand up by itself. After planting, keep the trees moist by daily misting and the humidity high. Use Cases This moss is often used to make miniature forests or bonsai-style scenes inside terrariums or vivariums Also used to create vertical structure among flat carpet mosses. Use it to frame rocks, wood, or water features with natural height and texture. Perfect for paludariums and display enclosures to create a layered effect.
