WE had a bevel cutter (same brand) but have been relying solely on a straight edge and straight blade knife to make straight cuts. That works fine for foam core but when cutting gator board, maintaining a straight cut is a challenge. This cutter has already come in handy with some recent signage needs. This is a recommended product for light production. We have not had this one long enough to evaluate longevity but the same branded bevel cutter has held up well for our needs for the past 15 plus years. The key on any of these is having fresh/sharp blades. That makes all the difference in the world as far as cut quality AND is directly related to the safe use of the tool.
