Cultivation (terrarium parameters) Light: Place it under bright, but indirect light. Prevent sustained, direct midday sun; do not place it in front of a window. Humidity: Optimal 60–90% RH. It can tolerate dips if the substrate remains evenly moist. Temperature: It thrives within normal indoor ranges (60–77 °F / 15–25 °C). Prevent freezing or heat over 85 °F. Substrate: This moss prefers a moisture-retentive yet aerated surface (e.g., fine bark/leaf-litter humus or sphagnum-based blends over a drainage layer). Use Moss Tac or anotehr organic adhesive for attachment because it needs firm surface contact for rapid establishment. Watering: Mist it with clean, filtered water. Keep evenly damp and prevent soaking the moss. Airflow: Some airflow is recommended to prevent moulding. Growth Rate / Height: This moss keeps a very low profile, typically a few millimeters to ~1 cm (max 1/2 inch) in a terrarium culture. Planting and Handling When the moss arrives, keep it cool and shaded if you cannot install it immediately. Take it out of the plastic and put it in a breathable container, and mist lightly if browning or if it feels very dry. To plant this moss, press the mat firmly onto the moistened substrate or hardscape to remove air gaps. Use Moss Tac, or another adhesive, to keep it in place so the moss can attatch itself to the surface. Make sure that the moss receives daily moisture for the first 2–3 weeks to encourage attachment. Use Cases This moss is great for foreground carpeting and path edging in temperate or tropical forest-style terraria. It can soften rock and wood transitions. To cover walls. It is great for creating microhabitats around water features.
